Beyond This Life

Cassandra Clare wrote, “We are chained to this world by a chain of gold, and we dare not severe it from fear of what lays beyond the drop.” The chain that ties people to this life is the reality and what lies beyond is what we make an illusion around.  Some believe that there is nothing after this life, others believe there are horrible things that lay beyond, and others still believe that there is an oasis that awaits those who pass on.  Humans are constantly trying to figure out what lies beyond this life, and turn to religion or faith to fill the void of not knowing.

Death is the one thing that most people fear more than anything. Some do unspeakable things to avoid death. People cannot live without their illusions, but they can’t stand the thought of liking the illusions. Human’s like to believe that they are obsessed with learning the truth, but reality is they don’t want the truth they just want others to tell them what they wish to hear. In every story there is a connection, in some way, to death.
